all in one kaillera?

Postby Heinster » Thu Oct 02, 2003 6:23 am

One thing I find pretty irritating is that often you see an interesting hub with people waiting to play interesting games I don't have the right emu running.... Isn't there a way that you just start up kaillera and be using configurationpaths to show where you have which emulator so you can join any game without needing to log out?

That is a mojob FANTASTIC idea and you hit it on the nail!!! This is something I always thought was one of the biggest key features needed to improve kaillera.

The fact is, there are way too many people running too many different emulators running kaillera at any one given time. I'll see someone waiting for someone to join in their Samurai Shodown 4 game using Kawaks, then I'll join and play with him. Then when I'm done I'll be in the perfect mood for some Mortal Kombat and next thing you know I actually see somebody waiting for an MK game to get started.

Problem is, he's running mame 0.64 while I'm running Kawaks...now I gotta go all the way of the program, closing several windows, and start up an entirely new emulator just so I can play MK against the person waiting. L-A-M-E-!!! There needs to be a way to activate the emu the other person is running, AUTOMATICALLY from within your folder and have it start up via Kaillera. That poop would RAWK and I *GUARANTEE* it would increase Kaillera's userbase 10000 fold!!! The convenience it be for everyone would be a HUUUGE benefit!

Alas, Chris has made the project his bastard child :(

That sounds like a very good idea. All the user would need to do is point to all the paths to their emulators and it could save it in a .cfg file.
That way when you upgrade your kaillera you never have to enter in the info again.

Too bad Chris has not made any updates in a long ass time and prob will not make any soon.

Oh well we can dream about it I guess.

Anyone know the mame developer Aaron Giles?
I think he is one of the best , if not the best programer on the mame team. What does he think about working on kaillera or even adding kaillera dll into the new mame32 0.77?

his website is http://www.aarongiles.com if anyone wants to ask him

Are the suggestions actually being used? I mean it's so incredibly quiet here..... Is there still work being done on kaillera?

Give me a mojob break. You people are lazy.

now I gotta go all the way of the program, closing several windows, and start up an entirely new emulator just so I can play MK against the person waiting. L-A-M-E-!!!

Wow, so you gotta hit the big X button a few times, double click an icon, and then wait 10 seconds until u can navigate your way back into the server. There should be a neural interface with computers so you don't have to put your hand ALL THE WAY on the side of the desk, move your wrist to the left or right, and occasionally press on keys by MOVING YOUR FINGERS IN A UP AND DOWN MOTION!!!! OMG wtf! This is simply uncalled for! :fist:

Guess you don't play alot online do you? There are several problems. One can only come online with one emulator arround the time you started another emulator the game that someone had offered to play with a contender is already taken by the time someone is there or the guy who wanted to play that certain game is long gone (noone has any patience when it comes to anything related to internet.... On top of that there are alot of servers that are hard to get onto when they are filled with more then 60% of what they allow (the Server Wise plce is a great example of this)
