New guy needs help

Alright, I'm sorry to do this to ya'll but I'm a new guy to this whole MAME scene, but could do with some help.

I only recently started using Kaillera when I downloaded MAME32k 0.67. Anyhow, I have downloaded a fair number of ROMS, but I have no idea how to play them. For example, I saw a game for Street Fighter 2 (RedWave) edition, so I downloaded it, put it in my roms folder, and extracted it from the zip, but still I can't play it either online or off. So any help as how to start these games up would be appreciated! Thanks.

You need the parent romset of the r0m you have downloaded. Also make sure that the correct r0m path is set.

Which version of mame32k are you using btw?

First off, you should not have extracted the roms from the zip file.

just download the roms and place the zip files on your roms folder then open you mame and press F5 to refresh the list of games.

then click on where is says available.

also some games require more than one set of roms to run ....

I would suggest you start out with getting the r0m SF2.zip since that is a parent r0m file for many street fighter games
