Question about keystrokes

Postby millseyiss » Wed Jun 25, 2003 4:47 am

I have read your FAQ on the site but I have a couple of questions still.
In a 2-player game, is there any way in which my system ability (CPU Usage, GFX Card or USB connection) can affect the online play for one or both of the two players?

I am playing Winning Eleven 2002 against others. I have a decent ping (usually less than 30, sometimes less than 15). However, not all of my keypresses become activated in the game. This means I have to press the pass or shoot keys (or buttons on my joypad) two or three times for the game to register when I pass. I think this might give my opponent an advantage. Is there anything I can do to boost my PC or connection to make the keystrokes go through!

Its got nothing to do with your hardware as long as both of you are getting the full 60 frames per second with the system you are emulating. No, its all down to your internet connection and latency. You should make sure that both you and the other guy connect to an server that gives the lowest ping for both users. Also, try playing around with the different connection settings : excellent, good and average. Apart from that there isn't much else you can do but to play on a LAN.

Also make sure that neither of you are running any form of P2P. I've played against people in the past and things would slow right down when they participated in an DC hub !
