toqer, you know this is not true.

isopalace was running on a 100Mb dedicated fiber line with a 2.4Ghz p4 /512k, 1GB ram, and raid0 2x120GB drives.

- if those system specs above are not enough to run a 40 player server, then kaillera needs recoding.

- if those are enough, then kaillera obviously has a bug and needs recoding.

either way, kaillera needs serious work, but seeing as how a frenchfry programmed it, im certain it will die out with time.

Real fast way to get him to get rid of this website and trash everything Kaillera, Rob. Good one.

How many times do I have to say it?

THE CONNECTING LOGGING IN "BUG" IS JUST A OVERLOADED SERVER! NOW GO SUCK A COCK mojob!

How many of you have actually sat down at a shell prompt running top, started a kaillerasrv, had clients join and start games, then write the results to a spreadsheet to test CPU usage based on load?

For that matter, how many of you have run MRTG on your linux box to watch how much traffic actually went through during those sessions? I guess i'm the only one that has, and the rest of you just pull poop out of thin air the way monkeys fly out of your butt.

I sat down and ran top nearly every mojob time i started the server.

the ISOPalace server was full nearly 24/7.

40 players = 25-35% load on the CPU.

Dont tell me its not a bug.

The old server was 2Ghz DUAL XEON and it did the same mojob thing only the load was a lot lighter lol. around 10-20%.

sorry toq, but it aint a server load issue brothah. I dont mean to piss ya off, but these are my analeesees and the facts speak fo themselves.

For my benchmark I used a k62-300, not quite as beefy as your dual Xeon.

Damn, wish I had kept those MRTG graphs, maybe i'll just make some more.

I have the same problem now. I use to be directly conected to my cable modem and could join every server with ease. Now that I've bought a router and networked my computers I cannot join servers with more than 30+ users. I've been told theres ways to fix this and I'm still working on that, but for now I'm stuck outside popular servers. This wasn't a problem untill I'd connected my router.

yup I used to have the same problem with my router,
no problem when I'm directly connected to the modem, but with router I get stuck at "connected, loging in" dialog,
it's eazily fixed though, just foward all ports to your main computer, the only down side is you can only do this to one computer, which means the other computers connected to your router will have problem connecting to a busy kaillera server.

Unfortunately Mystinq has a point; the biggest arguement for it being a bug in Kaillera is that when you disable firewalls it works just fine.
