Kaillera Upgrade

Dear Kaillera members (and all other readers…)

These days I and my team are working for a new efficient version for the Kaillera.
Due to the speculation in the last posts; I can assure you all, that a new version much better than the one you use today will launch in the next several months.

We are intending to improve the Games speed, the GUI and many more elements.
I'm talking with Kurgan via mails and he can say that I'm alive .
Unfortunately, there is a lot of work and things here are kindda hectic.

Thanks Etai! I was planning to write a desperate email to you (I've been busy the last few months which is why I haven't communicated as much as I'd have liked) but then I saw this.



The first order of business is that we need NEW FORUMS.

I'm sick and tired of this crap from the stupid Russian guy. This software is broken and old. We need Vbulletin in here on the double.

We've got a volunteer to help me moderate this place and I think he'll do a good job.

With a dedicated team of moderators we can do a good job here.


Next order of business would be to start promoting new Client builds on the main page (and take down that stupid link, which is dead anyway, to goatse).

For what it's worth, if you need an extra set of hands for Kaillera development, keep me in mind. I do have some idea how Kaillera works from the server side, between my hand-decompilation of the old stock servers and subsequent work on UOKS.

Not too bad. I've been pretty busy, but this week (spring break) I've gotten a few games in after a loooong absence.

I see Buddhateam's site is down (hope not permanently), so I temporarily put up a link to download mamemore.

I tell people about romnation.net for roms too, as it seems to have a good selection.

Wish I could find more people to play old school games with...

Have is doing work on internet mame? Here and I thought he and mamedev were all pissy at kaillera for not being open source (and appealing to "poop kiddies")?

Well, whatever. I remember hearing about "Netmame" back in the day and being excited, but it's been dead for many many years, and when Kaillera came around I completely forgot about it (it's long been surpassed).

Anyway, Etai wanted me to tell you all that "Kaillera will be forever free" (after I asked him about rumors that Kaillera would go commercial). He said I could quote him on that!

Also, he says there's four people working on the program these days, not just himself.

As to the message, it took him MONTHS to get back to me. I posted I think about three messages before he finally replied (after I'd basically given up hope and sent out one last message). He replied within hours to my response to his post as well, and the same with this last one, so he's checking his email again, apparently.
